Hello and welcome!
My name is Virginia and I'm an Alexander Technique teacher in Edinburgh.
I started my training in London and graduated as an Alexander Technique teacher in 2019 from the Sydney City Alexander Technique School.

I trained for the required total of 1600 hours to develop a sensitivity in my hands that enables me to guide pupils through new sensory experiences of changing balance and coordination.
My Journey

You will find that most people come to the Alexander Technique as a last resort – and I am no exception. I developed severe repetitive strain injury (RSI) whilst studying my PhD and working. I tried everything to stop the pain and undo the injury but, in doing so, I became dependent on others ‘fixing’ me which I felt increasingly frustrated by.
In the back of my mind, niggling away, was something my sister had once light-heartedly said about a technique she had tried: “It’s really boring. You lie down and say ‘no’ all the time. But it feels great. It’s just your thing!” Joking aside, she was right – it was just my thing.

I went on an introductory course and immediately fell in love. I felt so completely empowered by the technique that I decided to train and gradually, I regained the use of my hand. Fast forward a few years and here I am today, a firm believer of the holistic benefits of the Alexander Technique.

We should not let our bodies set us back or limit our possibilities. The Alexander Technique has helped me in so many ways, physically and mentally, and I now look forward to sharing my skills with you – and to help you feel good! Get in touch.
